230th Ride – Sunday 6 August 2017

With no Colin to organise or lead us we were 7 on our own – 3x Dave, 2x Andy, a Mat Fuller and a Di. Only I had the Advanced route on my, rarely to be trusted Garmin, but we all decided to follow the same route, at the same pace, behind me.

With the wind in our sails, we stuck together until the hill north of Corse Lawn where Mat, a Dave and an Andy went on ahead. But, on dear, Matt sent the wrong way in Tewkesbury and so we sent Dave and Andy to catch him and bring him back on track. They caught and overtook us again by Bredon.

Lots of lovely lanes, some I’m sure I’ve never seen before, we flew by Eckington (get it!) back to Upton, Longdon and home where Peter was waiting for his cup of tea after training with Gloucester Tri Club. Hard luck, mate!

Bit windy on the way back and was glad to get home but a beautiful day, good company and a champion ride, thanks to our great Yellow Leader, even though he wasn’t there.
Hope Herefordshire was as enjoyable.
