With Owen, Andy and Ian taking the van home there were 6 of us starting today and leaving Hereford behind us or were we?
A southwesterly wind so a strong tailwind we should make good time home, or should we?
Leaving the hotel and into a headwind so we knew we were on a slight detour and soon a stunning view of Hay Bluff, seeming to look even bigger as we rode aalongsideit, but the sun was out and the legs were beginning to feel ok again, even up the hills of the stunning Herefordshire countryside the miles ticked by and after about 20 miles an unscheduled stop for a coffee at a little garage before the first major climbs started for the day. With the climbs behind us and thoughts of lunch started to enter our heads. Wayne and Paul had rode to Ross to join us on the ride home so as they were making themselves comfortable with a pint we were just entering the outskirts of Ross and a couple more hills and we joined them for lunch. Now we were 8 and on leaving Ross via Walford we made our way through to Mitcheldean and home on a well used route Franks Suit route back to the club.
This weekend has been a fantastic challenge for all those who took part, all three days or just one or part of the ride your presence has been much appreciated by us all. Maggie and Adrian have run this tour like clockwork the pace has been fantastic, the organisation superb and great company too. So Both of you a very big Leadon Vale thank you from us all.
It was great to see while we were away that David had led a ride from the club which seemed well supported and the ladies as seen in a previous post enjoying their run out.
Thanks to everyone who have helped with some everlasting memories.
