This week something a little different, a slightly longer ride and 3 other rides, as asked for at the AGM and I was so pleased to see a great group set off on the first of these, on a rather blustery morning but bright and the hope of a spot of sun later.
All rides headed towards Tewkesbury and into that strong Northerly wind making Corse Lawn Common seem harder than it normally is, but on we went through to Bredon where the longer ride headed out to Beckford looped through Dumbleton, Elmley Castle and on to Pershore, the other rides went through Eckington the Advanced then turned and climbed up through the Comberton and on to Pershore. We would turn left in Pershore through towards Defford, but the sporty ride would climb out of Pershore and turn towards Croome park where I believe refreshments were taken, we would turn through to Strensham and on to Upton on Severn and now on the same route as the intermediate to Upton. Right in Upton and along upper Hook lane and winding our way now with the wind in a favourable direction through to Castlemorton and along the main road to Cammers Green and cooks lane and home via Dobbs hill, to a lovely cup of tea. Well done to Julie Cowgill who today broke the 40 mile barrier for the first time and that’s a great achievement as we had Peter back from his adventures and doing his group leading role set a great pace.
I hope the Sporty ride all got back safely and that they all enjoyed the extra miles, I’m sure they will let us know.
Another great turnout, and it would be good to see many of you on Friday evening for Franks talk about his adventures back in the summer, I’m sure it will be an entertaining and informative evening.
Thanks to all who rode and helped out today, a great group of people.
Yellow Leader.
