LEADON VALE CYCLE CLUB RIDE 378 Sunday 11th 2021. A beautiful morning for cycling and a funny thing on the way to the club David Sage was sat in the local bus stop shelter, I think he was continuing his series of reviews, so I will be interested in how he rates the local amenity. With the urn on and Matt dropping off some much appreciated chocolate bars again for our return, it was inspiring to see so many out I counted 20 but it could have been more, we split into 2 groups a sporty ride which would split and an advanced ride both rides were heading out into the Worcestershire countryside. 9.30 and we were off straight to Pendock and upper Pendock then winding our way through to Castlemorton on to the common then over Welland cross turning into Hook lane which took us past Clive’s fruit farm and into Upton on Severn. Over the bridge and we turned through Rhyall while the sporty boys would cross the A38 and work their way up to Strensham before dropping down and joining us around Ukinghall well when I say joining I mean speeding past us on the climb up to Puckrup and just catching a glimpse of them as we crossed into Church lane, The Mythe now behind us and we said goodbye to David, and now the long drag on the main rd to Forthampton, now this is where Ken took the lead and I was very appreciative as he led all the way from the bridge and at times I thought I could feel a little slip stream so maybe lock down has filled him out a little. Forthampton behind us as the sporty boys once again bomb past us through to Chaceley and a slight headwind to Tirley where Ken said goodbye as did Rob in Ashleworth so that left 4 of us to return to the club closely followed by the second sporty ride to a welcomed brew and a bar of chocolate thanks to Mat. Next weeks ride will be the LINC charity ride from Tewkesbury rugby club I will put the route up soon as long as they haven’t changed it. We will leave the rugby club at 9.30 so please be there early enough to register. Some may want to add a few miles on so we will be leaving the club at 8.30 to ride to Tewkesbury register and all leave together at 9.30. Please see attached flyer its £20 on the day and please ensure you bring a face mask. Thanks to everyone who rode today.Yellow leader.
