LEADON VALE CYCLE CLUB RIDE 381 August 8th 2021 Friday 13th we are holding a social ride and it would be great to meet up with anyone who has ever rode with us or anyone who would like to ride with us for a very social ride, the evening will start with a ride followed by a chat and a beer back at the club, please join us we miss you and would be great to catch up after a strange year, and before the winter sets in. Rides will leave at 6 .It was a damp looking morning as I rode to the club feeling full of Cornish hospitality mainly pasties and Rattler cider, but it felt good to get back on the bike. It was so nice to ride with David Price who was out last week but I missed him, Carly who has injured her ankle sent Matt out in her place who joined a very strong sporty group, Colin Morris also joined us on the intermediate ride so I joined him and we would start out with the Advanced ride. We left at 9.30 and rode along the 417 to Playley Green where we turned up to Redmarley Village and on to Bromsberrow passing the quarry which seems to get deeper every time we pass, out through the village and over Greenway cross roads and then the rather rough lanes around Leddington which we took carefully emerging by the new Cricket ground just above the Rugby club so now we were at the bottom of Ledbury and there is only one way to go and that’s up so a steady pace was set by David and we all followed to the lights and over then we had a little diversion off route a little lane David introduced us to which cut off the climb on the main rd bringing us out back on course, this is where we would leave the advanced ride as they ventured out through the lovely village of Mathon but then the rather rough road of Colwall before re joining us over Holybush. Me and Colin having conquered Holybush in the rain turned left halfway down and rode under the trees out of the rain out onto Castlemorton common emerging opposite the Robin Hood. Castlemorton Church and around the lanes to Birtsmorton and on to Pendock and now back on the same ride home as the other rides. Everyone back safely and a cup of tea and reflection on another lovely ride. Thanks to everyone who rode and helped out. Yellow leader.
