Leadon vale cycle club ride 383 Sunday 22nd August 2921. Mid way through the holiday season and it was so nice to see so many out. We welcomed Ethan on his first Sunday ride for a while, and Richard turned up on his gravel bike with some new chunky tyres on his new wheels which seemed to be leaking a little so he joined me Chris and Ken on the intermediate ride and all the others on the sporty. The sporty group led us away and we followed keeping them in sight up Corse Lawn but as we climbed the hill that’s the last we saw of them. Tewkesbury was soon behind us and as we started to leave Tewkesbury we had the first inflation of those chunky tyres with the sealant seeming to seep out of the side walls but reinflated we were away again now into the headwind when we turned in Breadon so we shared the lead through the roadworks and stopping at the bridge over the Avon for a very scenic pump up of those tyres but that seemed to do the trick. Defford and Strensham behind us we were soon through Upton upon Severn up the hill and climbing up to Hill-end and on to upper Welland before rejoining the main road at Castlemorton for the run home. We passed the sporty ride mending a puncture at rye cross and said good bye to Ken at pendock leaving Richard and Chris to drag me home to make the tea. Before the tea pot was brewed the sporty group were home and we all enjoyed a brew together. Another enjoyable ride that was the first time i had ridden with Richard and really enjoyed it i only hope I didn’t hold them up too much. Thanks to everyone who rode. Yellow leader.
