LEADON VALE CYCLE CLUB RIDE 407 Sunday 3rd April 2022.
I can only assume that the cold start had put a few of you off, but it was cold, but as the morning sun broke through it gradually warmed up. So the seven of us all decided to have a bit of a club ride so we all set out together up the newly surfaced barn lane on our way up Corse Lawn to Tewkesbury, the pace was strong with Andrew joining us as all his Sporty boys cried off, so Tewkesbury was reached in no time. The road to Bredon was quiet and I always love riding through Bredon a lovely village which always looks neat and tidy, before we turned through to Eckington the sun as out but the air was still chilly so the winter jacket was doing its job. The climb up to lower Strensham now over the busy M5 then dropping down to Rhyall and Upton Upon Severn, Tunnell hill and Longdon where we turned and rode along Longdons Marsh eventually emerging at Rye cross it was just above here that we encountered the Velo Vitessse road race and a quick chat with the marshals to find out which way we could go without getting in the way we stayed on the main road to Pendock where the entourage of out riders warned us of the on coming road race, a very impressive sight, a large group travelling at speed isn’t something we see every day. So with the all clear given we headed for home a few stragglers dropped by the group passed us.
Back at the club we had a brew and a chat and a catch up with Di, who called in, it was good to see her out on her bike and to hear Clive is doing well and is making good progress after his fall.
Please note Tuesday and Friday evening rides start this Tuesday leaving at 6.0 so please join us. Routes are on Garmin.
Yellow leader.
