Ride 419 Sunday 10th July 2022

LEADON VALE CYCLE CLUB RIDE 419 Sunday 10th July 2022.

This was going to be a hot one but actually when riding to the club it was a very pleasant morning. So with the urn on we were all deciding which ride to ride and some saying they hadn’t had a txt for which I’m sorry I had completely missed sending to one whole group but should be sorted for next week.

With Garmin not playing ball and people not getting a txt I wasn’t overly confident, but when the sporty ride left the club and half went one way and the other half went the other I knew it was going to be one of those days, the Advanced group had got it right and the rest of us followed me from the club completely the wrong way but a bit of juggling the route and a good idea of where we should be heading things got better. Well not until we had rode through Pendock , Birtsmorton and it was in Castlemorton that we picked up the route and Brucie who was out for the first time in a while commented that the guidance had taken a turn for the worse since he was last out. We pushed on on to the Common under the Malvern hills who looked stunning this morning in the sunshine the crossing the common on a small gated road, lovely to have some shade as we climbed to the Ledbury rd then turning and descending to Welland and up on to upper hook lane through to Tunnel hill, then a bit of main rd to Longdon and bear lane and along Longdons Marsh and the morning got stranger as we passed Owen going the wrong way on his own, but he looked happy so we pushed on through to Pendock and then the push was on back to the club..

Back and a cup of tea was most refreshing sat in the shade it wasn’t long before everyone was home safely and the stories began it was a morning of punctures, wrong routes but really quite enjoyable.

Thanks to everyone who ride and helped out today.

Yellow leader.
