LEADON VALE CYCLE CLUB RIDE 421 Sunday 21st August 2022.
A heavy evening in Ahsleworth meant there would be a few thick heads and no shows but Maggie was here carrying the Ashleworh flag.
Andrew, Owen,Alan and Andy all set off on the sporty ride Steve, Terry, Chris and Richard set off on a slightly faster Advanced ride leaving Maggie, Derek, Chris, Ken and myself on an Advanced ride.
We were all off and soon climbing Dobbs hill and on to Albright lane via Cooks lane, the lane was quiet and Derek and Chris setting a good strong pace through Bromsberrow the wind was strengthening and in our face all the way to Much Marcle before turning back towards Kempley along a really rough stretch of road which seemed never ending and I was glad when Kempley church was behind us and with great views we passed through Queens wood and on to Newent via Oxenhall . Now Watery lane was before us a lovely Kane coming the other way but now we had to go up it, in all fairness it wasn’t too bad and Clifford’s Meanze soon came into view and now the climb along the side of May a Hill to the glasshouse, we took Judges lane down to the Huntley rd which we followed through to Huntley. Tibberton rd back to Tibberton and a spot of rain in the air which luckily didn’t turn into anything. Highleadon and Blacwells end before Chris started the push for home which lifted the pace down Orridge street back to the club where every one else were back.
Thanks to everyone who ride and helped out today a very enjoyable ride and good company.
Yellow leader.
