Maggie here. Today’s ‘Maggie’s Eggstra Special’ (aka the agnostic) ride was really well attended (thanks all) with 9 on the start line for a great route. The 9 fell into 2 fairly obvious groups. That didn’t last for various reasons (mechanical, not feeling the love, returning from injury, the lure of a family lunch etc). So, we ended up with goodness knows how many different rides. Cooler than the forecast predicted (poor ‘Spanish’ Al was freezing but will be back with the speedy team before long as he builds his miles up once again…watch out!). Ken and Dave were back at the club as Al and myself returned, joined shortly after by Peter, who was disappointed not to have chased someone home. I added a few miles on, bumping into Colin and Ann in Staunton on the way back. Thank you YL for rescuing me early in the ride, which allowed a quick Tour de France-style bike change and a frantic effort to catch up. It was memorable, and the route is well worth doing – lots of option points if you need flexibility. All back safely, I believe. Happy Easter all. See some of you on Tues XX
